Ashley Amsbaugh has a genuine passion for helping her fellow anesthesiologists prepare and pass their Oral Board examinations.
A native Houstonian, Dr. Ashley Amsbaugh obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Texas at Austin. She attended medical school at the McGovern University of Texas Medical School at Houston and completed her residency in anesthesiology at the University of Louisville, where she was awarded Outstanding Resident in Pain Medicine. After graduation, she completed her fellowship in pain medicine at the University of Louisville as well.
While in training, Dr. Amsbaugh published and presented research on the pain management techniques for patients with gynecological cancer. Currently, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pain Medicine in the Department of Neurosurgery at the McGovern University of Texas Medical School in Houston, Texas. She specializes in interventional pain management of complex spine patients, employing procedures that include spinal cord stimulation, radiofrequency ablation, and joint, nerve, and epidural steroid injections.
In her spare time, Dr. Amsbaugh enjoys the fine art performances (ballet and opera), working out, skiing, scuba diving, cheering on Longhorn Football and Houston Astros baseball teams, cooking, new restaurants, and travel with her husband.
